The Hope Scholarship
Hope Scholarship is the state’s education savings account program that gives parents an opportunity to build an individual learning experience that works best for their child. The scholarship allows K-12 students to receive financial assistance that can be used for tuition, fees and other expenses.

To qualify for the Hope Scholarship Program in the 2022-2023 academic year, a student must be a West Virginia resident and be one of the following:

Eligible for or required to be enrolled in kindergarten

Enrolled full-time in public elementary or secondary school in West Virginia for an entire instructional term of the 2021-2022 academic year
-
Enrolled full-time and attending a public elementary or secondary school in West Virginia for at least 45 calendar days during the current instructional term at the time of application
Financial Aid
Opportunities
Financial Aid is available to both Catholic and non-Catholic students through Diocesan, Parish and School funding.

Assistance will be based on financial need. No more than 50% of the tuition amount after FACTS, may be subsidized for each child applying for assistance.

Tuition Assistance Process for Phase I Financial Aid with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston opens on February 1, 2022 and will close of April 30, 2022. We strongly encourage you to apply during this time!
How to Support Our Students

St. Joseph Endowment Scholarship:
St. Joseph Catholic School currently maintains an endowment scholarship in its name. The endowment interest goes directly to the school’s operating budget. If you would like to make a tax-free contribution to the fund, simply make a check payable to St. Joseph Catholic School and earmark it for “endowment scholarship”.

Box Tops/Campbell Soup:
Box Tops for Education is one of the nation’s largest school fund-raising loyalty programs. It has been helping schools succeed since 1996. With over 240 participating products, it’s an easy way for St. Joseph Catholic School to earn cash. Simply clip each Box Top and send into school.

There are opportunities to increase the visibility of your company as well as receiving a charitable-giving tax deduction by becoming one of St. Joseph’s Gymnasium Sign Sponsors. Planned Giving:
Planned giving provides an opportunity for donors to support St. Joseph Catholic School through deferred gifts. These gifts include bequest, charitable trusts, gifts of life insurance, real estate or other tangible property. Depending on the donor’s circumstances, a planned gift may not only greatly benefit St. Joseph Catholic School, but may also provide significant tax savings for the donor. Matching Gifts:
Many employers match gifts made by their current, as well as retired, employees. This is a simple way to double- and sometimes, even triple your gift to St. Joseph Catholic School. Contact your employer or human resource department for the form necessary to match your gift to St. Joseph Catholic School and let us know that a matching gift will be coming.

Yearly Fundraisers:
Each year, St. Joseph Catholic School hosts several fund-raising events.

Other fund-raisers include Breakfast with Santa, McTeacher Night, and the Scholastic Book Fair.
