The Hope Scholarship
Hope Scholarship is the state’s education savings account program that gives parents an opportunity to build an individual learning experience that works best for their child. The scholarship allows K-12 students to receive financial assistance that can be used for tuition, fees and other expenses.

To qualify for the Hope Scholarship Program in the 2022-2023 academic year, a student must be a West Virginia resident and be one of the following:

Eligible for or required to be enrolled in kindergarten

Enrolled full-time in public elementary or secondary school in West Virginia for an entire instructional term of the 2021-2022 academic year
-
Enrolled full-time and attending a public elementary or secondary school in West Virginia for at least 45 calendar days during the current instructional term at the time of application
Financial Aid
Opportunities
Financial Aid is available to both Catholic and non-Catholic students through Diocesan, Parish and School funding.

Submit completed application with supporting documentation to the Principal, Dr. Templeton by deadline

Assistance will be based on financial need. No more than 50% of the tuition amount after FACTS, may be subsidized for each child applying for assistance.

Tuition Assistance Process for Phase I Financial Aid with the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston opens on February 1, 2022 and will close of April 30, 2022. We strongly encourage you to apply during this time!
Outside the Classroom
Outside the Classroom offers opportunities for students to learn the value of teamwork, individual and group responsibility, diversity, and a sense of culture and community.
​
It reinforces the lessons learned in the classroom while offering an opportunity to apply academic skills outside the classroom and help students become well-rounded individuals.
​
All clubs are facilitated by St. Joseph Faculty Members.
Outside the Classroom Registration Form
Art Club:
Offered to students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
The cost is $45 per each 5-week session.

Triple I Club:
Offered to students in 3rd through 5th Grade.
The cost is $45 per quarter.
An after-school science club, Triple I teaches lab skills and conduct experiments and demonstrations.
Archery Club:
Offered to students in 4th through 8th Grade.
The cost is $35 per quarter.
Students will compete at local Archery tournaments in the spring.
Chorus:
Offered to students in 3rd through 5th Grade.
The cost is $35 per quarter.
St. Joseph’s Children’s Chorus is a unique learning environment designed to provide a rich and musical experience for each child. Students will learn proper breathing, healthy singing, and basic ear/eye training. Students will study and perform a variety of music from simple folk songs to more challenging classical and multi-cultural repertoire.
The group will compete in the spring as well as perform at local venues.
EW! Club:
Offered to students in 6th through 8th Grade.
The cost is $35 per quarter.
Elevate Writing, or EW, is a student-driven club which focuses on the love of books as well as the passion for various forms of writing.
Writing samples include but not limited to:

Novel writing

Play writing

Narrative writing

Poetry
Each semester, one book is recommended by the EW instructor. Students participate in book discussions at EW as well as brain-storming, problem solving for writers’ block and sharing strategies for writing - i.e. character charts, plot charts, writer apps, etc.
YOGA Club:
Offered to students in 5th through 8th Grade.
The cost is $35 per quarter.
The YOGA Club is new to our after-school program.
Mrs. Hill, a certifieid 200-hour level yooga teacher, will be teaching this club.
Students will need to bring their own mat.
Robotics Club:
Offered to students in 3rd through 8th Grade.
The costs is $250 per year.
Students will compete at all levels - local, regional and worlds.

Boy and Girl Scouts:
Offered to students in 1st through 8th Grade.
