news icon 2010 Science Fair Winners

The 2010 Science Fair was currently held at St. Joseph Catholic School for Grades K through 8th.  Overall winners were: Caitlin G.- 1st place with "Bubbles, Bubbles and more Bubbles", Chelsea G. - 2nd place with "Cookies: Can you blame the burnt ones on the cookie sheet", and Amanda A. - 3rd place with "Testing the 5 second rule".  The following students will be traveling to Fairmont State University on March 12th and 13th to compete in the regional fair:  Caitlin G., Chelsea G., Sara N., Mary G., Kylie M. and Abigail T.  Good Luck!

K through 4th Grade Division Winners are as follows:
Physics
Jackie H. - 1st Place with "Making a Windmill"
Luke Z. - 2nd Place with "Potential vs. Kinetic Energy"
Greenway W. - 3rd Place with "Weight vs. shape and size"
Chemistry
Frankie T. - 1st Place with "Which fruits produce electricity"
Callie H. - 2nd Place with "Best conditions for making butter"
Ryan W. - 3rd Place with "Dough Rising in cold and warm air"
Biology
Grace B. - 1st Place with "What disinfectants kill the most germs"
Hannah S.- 2nd Place with "Relationship between taste and smell"
Arianna P. - 3rd Place with "Plant growth with soda vs. water"

5th through 8th Grade Division Winners are as follows:
