The Irish Middle School Teams split with Cross Lanes Christian last night in basketball. The varsity girls lost by 2 to Cross Lanes in the final minute of the contest. It was certainly an off-night for the Irish girls plagued with foul trouble, turnovers and poor shooting. Hopefully, the girls will rebound tonight against South Point. The JV Girls play at 5:30, followed by the Varsity.
St. Joe Varsity Boys won their contest 30-21. John M. and Chad D. played their roles perfectly, while Trace A., Isaac B. and JP H. did great orchestrating things. Christian Y. proved that it's not important how many points you score if you score them at the right time...he turned a Gabe G. air-ball into the perfect "alley-oop" when the team needed two points the most. On the next trip down, John M. put the game away with a three pointer and Chad D. put the icing on the cake with a VERY hard working two points on the next trip. The boys are back in action on Wednesday in a re-scheduled game at the St. Joe gym vs. Fairland beginning with JV at 5:30! The boys would love to play in front of a packed house and Mrs. Gale says there will be plenty of hot dogs ready to make it a family outing! Go Irish!
