WHOOHOO!!! It's the eve of our discharge and I am walking on cloud nine! I just read all of the messages from my update yesterday and am sitting here in tears. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we have received and feel so blessed in the midst of this journey we are on with our family. I wish I had words to express how much all of this means to me but I do not. I truly hope all of you know how incredible you have been, even if you haven't left a message. The fact that people take time out of their day to read about Bella's progress is so rewarding to me and I thank God for all the people who are in our lives.
We are planning to finish Bella's morning therapies and then head home! We hope to be on the road by noon or so!! We will stop in Lexington to visit with papaw for a little while. Mamaw is here with us so she'll be making the trip also. I cannot wait to get Bella home and for her to sleep in her own bed. I did some calculating last night and I have been home 2 days in the last 11 weeks but Bella hasn't been home at all so I am beyond happy for her!!
I wanted to update you on our friends, Eli and Elijah. Eli is doing great. He has not had any seizures in over a week so everyone is hopeful that the pattern will continue!! They will be going home sometime next week. Elijah continues to have seizures but has started the ketogenic diet and this seems to be working so far. He will go home on Thursday. Tom and I hope to keep in touch with our new friends. One of the moms playfully calls us "he hemi crew." Because our kids surgeries are called hemispherectomies. Alot easier to say hemi, just don't think of the truck!! I feel blessed to have met these families and know that this is also part of God's plan.
Will update you tomorrow night after we make it home!! Can't wait to see everyone. If any of you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I will not be offended or mad or anything!! I am sure there are things people are curious about that I may have forgotten to mention or things that I haven't explained fully. I am more than happy to explain whatever I can about Isabella's condition and surgery. Love to all of you and God bless
