Charity Choice 5K


On behalf of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Schools, the Huntington City Mission, Habitat for Humanity and the Nazareth House, I would like to thank everyone that made this year’s 1st “Charity Choice 5K Race” an enormous success.  With your help, $25,000 was raised to benefit these charitable organizations. It was amazing to see so many people come out to not only support great causes but also to improve fitness.  The event had over
325 participants.  I hope to double this number at next year’s race!  

 

I would like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers for the pre-race pasta dinner and the race - St. Joseph Men’s Club, Women’s Junior League, Marshall University students, community supporters, parents, high school students, and middle school students.  Thank you also to the Huntington Police and the EMT for providing street security.  Race participants praised our event for the amount of individuals staffed on the course path and the safety precautions that were provided. 

Thank you to the City of Huntington and Melissa for arranging the course path mark-off.  There’s no way to thank everyone personally but you are certainly appreciated for your time and effort!

I would also like to thank the Charity Choice Committee Members:  Andy Fischer, Belinda Chapman, Cherie Davis, Lynn Clagg, Jennifer Hatten, and Tassy Holley for the long hours of help and support in making our race successful.
